Kna helped her lift the cubs into the trees. He suddenly realized how strange, yet interesting they looked. Phoenix had the appearance of a lion with feathered wings. Her fur and reathers were copper and gold. And her personality was strong and feisty as fire. Tommy was large and bulky and looked similar to Phoenix but with small wings and more feline features. He was soft but intelligent. And Sapphire was a beautiful combination of pastel and ocean blues. She had a strong thin stature and had beautiful flowing feathers like her mother. She was smart, but had a sharp toungue. As soon as they were settled Kna took Coxa into his arms. "What do you think of the children, love?"

(PAWS!) "Great, I love them!" She whispered as she huddled around the pups and softly groomed them. She plucked the excess food that remained on their feathers and began telling them a story. "Once upon a time...-" She whispered

(It doesn't have to make sense lady. Says so in the rules. Bam.) "There was a lion and a bird. They met in a dark deep hole in the center of the universe. They were scared." Tommy spoke up nuzzling his mother's feathers. "What'd they do, mother?" Sapphire rolled her eyes. "Probably just climbed out and lived happily ever after, bla bla bla." Coxa pursed her lips. "No, Sapphire, they didn't climb out. They ventured out through one of the tunnels." "Whatever, same thing," she said, tucking in her radiant wings. "Anyways, in those tunnels the bird gave birth to three wonderful children. One was Tommy. The other Phoenix and the last Sapphire." Each of the beamed when their name was mentioned. "They.."

( now stop and continue with the story XD) "They were very happy." "Ha! I was right! Sapphire spread her wings triumphantly. "Oh, but that's not the end, deary," Coxa said with a smile. Pheonix shot Sapphire a smirk. Sapphire stuck her tongue out at her sister. "So what happened then?" Tommy asked, ignoring his sisters. "A nasty old tiger fell into the center of the universe," Kna continued. "And your mama ate him," Coxa chuckled in return. "Ew!" The cubs said in unison. "Hey, he was yummy," Kna and Coxa said at the same time. "And then they did..." Pheonix gestured with her golden wing for her parents to continue. "They moved to a clearing and told their children a story much like this one. The end," Coxa said. The cubs yawned, save for Sapphire, who crossed her wings over her pale blue and cerulean chest and said, "That was boring. I want an adventrue story!" "Maybe next time," Kna chortled. He and Coxa pressed up next to each other, the cubs sleeping in between, resting peacefully. THE END

(That was a nice story. Now lets start a new one. Lets try an adventure story. Just like Sapphire wanted) Branches and ferns brushed against Elisa's pale skin, as she wandered through the jungle. Her maiden and three guards followed close behind. "My lady, maybe we should take a break. You've been walking for hours and–" Elisa held up her hand. "Enough, Mara. I need to reach Puerto Mar by tomorrow. We'll stop in the evening." The guards exchanged wary glances. Though she was sixteen, quite young for her to rule her father's old countship, Elisa had enough common sense to travel alone in the jungle. Her most trusted guard and steady counsel, Jonas, stepped forward. "My lady, may I suggest stopping late afternoon so we can properly step up camp? We need to be sharp for the final leg of the journey." Elisa blinked. "Of course." It was almost out of habit that she answered his suggestions with 'of course. But she trusted his judgement. What ever he thought was right.

It was now mid afternoon and they had been traveling for a day. Elisa was still full of energy but her guards and her maids were about as sleepy as can be. Her most trusted guard found a nice, flat spot, hard to attack on with a little cave, deep enough to fit four. Elisa sat down and built a small fire. She warned her hands from above but as she was about to bend down to put more wood in the fire, something black and whsipy passed before her at the speed of lightning. Elisa froze as she felt a shiver run down her back.

Just as quickly as it came, the black smoke vanished into the night, leaving a sense of nervousness in Elisa's throat. She fingered the string on her bow. "We must reach Puerto Mar by nightfall. I cannot be late," Elisa said. "We must move." She held her bown by its handle and nocked an arrow, keeping it armed just in case. Jonas had a hand on his sword, though he kept it sheathed. The other two guard followed his example and surrounded Elisa's maid, Rita. Sighing, Elisa stayed in front of her guards, wondering why she'd even bothered to bring Rita along. Perhaps she felt pity - the young maiden hadn't seen her brother in Puerto Mar in over two years while Elisa was there to attend to council of the king and teach archery to a younger child, though who this child was she did not know. They walked through the jungle, occasionally stopping but only for water. The sun began to set and Elisa began to pick up the pace.

Just as soon as they began walking faster, the black smoke circled them, giving off hideous screams. Elisa turned around and tripped on someone's foot. She fell down, Jhonas tried to reach down for her but he got caught, caught in the black smoke. His shouts came out as mumbles. Elisa shrieked and everything froze for a minute. The world so frozen in place. It unfroze as her shriek ended. Elisa gasped in surprise, was she magical? She moved her hand around the ground, searching for her bow and arrow, the hideous screaming continuing, Jhonas still stuck in the black smoke. Elisa got to her feet but she soon realized she was separated from the others. A thick black smoke circled the others but their screams were just munbling and Jhonas surrounded in his own smoke. Elisa tried to move but she couldn't, her voice faint. She too was surrounded.

She grasped for Jonas, who's eyes were wide with fear. "Elisa!" he yelled, but his cry was muffled by smoke. Elisa opened her mouth to respond but no word came out. Her hands reached out from the smoke, and she hoped that Jonas would grasp it and she could pull free. But no one did. Soon she was alone, the hideous screams gone, the smoke vanished. She wrung her hands with worry. This is what she'd been afraid of. Losing her companions, not being able to continue. She narrowed her eyes. Someone or something had to be behind the attack. And she had a few ideas. Either Conde Eduardo, who had wanted her father and all of his heirs of the throne of Amalur. Or Franco, her father's advisor, who'd already tried at attempts on her life. She blinked suddenly aware of her situation. What was she going to do?

Jonas pulled desperatly trying to get out but the smoke began chocking him. He coughed and then passed out a short while later. The maids and guards dead on the ground, smoke circling everyone. Elisa lost somewhere, alone and alive. She pondered her thought for a moment and grabbed her bow and arrow that was still in her hand. She began walking copiously, following the scent of smoke. Soon, she arrived to the crime scene. She gasped as she saw everyone on the ground, smoke gone. A pool of blood lay around every individual except Jonas. She winced as a sudden pain shot up her leg. "Jonas!" She yelled kneeing down to him, her hand on his bloody chest. She lay her head on his left side, feeling for a heart beat. Her eyes closed, tears streaming down her face. She realized he was still alive but didn't have for long. Elisa's leg trembled . She looked down, seeing a long cut from her ankle to her thigh, bleeding. She sighed and lightly slapped Jonas in the face, trying to wake him up. Tears streamed down her face again as pain grew stronger on her leg. She stopped and looked at the blood seeping out of Jonas's chest. She needed to heal him. Elisa got up and looked around to find her maid with a water holder at her side. Elisa's hands grasped on the container of water. She layed it aside Jonas as she carefully removed his armor, giving way to an old scrappy shirt. Elisa carefully peeled away the shirt leeving his bare chest bleeding at the sunset. Before she could do anything to fix his wound, she took the container of water and poured it over Jonas's face. His eyes opened, awakened from his unconsciousness. "Jonas! Your awake!" She said staring at his pale face. "Elisa.-" he grasped at her hand. "Go, I'll be fine." He said lifting his head to see blood on his chest. His eyes widened. He paced his other hand on his bloody chest, removing it at once. "Jonas, I can't leave without you!" She sighed. "I'm going to heal you." She paused. Elisa ran her hand above his wound. He winced as her cold fingers ran his wound. "It's just below your heart, they missed you by a little." She said placing her other hand on his pale cheek. His eyes closed as Elisa's hand ran down his neck to his chest once more to the wound. She searched trough her bag for bandage she had packed. Elsia unraveled the bandage and placed it on the floor. She carefully pulled out some herbs from her pocket and plased a mashed pulp in his wound. He winced at the stinging. Elisa ran her hand over to his head. "Don't worry, now it won't get infected." She said carefully. Her fingers tore at the bandge, placing carefully around his torso. She wrapped it around a couple times until she ran out. Elisa tied the loose end and placed her hand on the bandage. "Is that better?" She asked, eying scars that tattered his skin. He nodded and thanked her, placing his short and armor once more on himself. Elisa looked at him, taking the water for them to share. "Do you want to rest, or do we go?" She asked afraid to be late.

"You go. I will return back to Amalur and report what happened to the King." Jonas bowed his head. "But... Jonas," she tried. He lifted his hand and winced as he placed it on her shoulder. "You are strong and kind, but you do not have to worry about me. Continue on." "But what about the rest of them? What about Rita's brother?" "I don't know. But stay out of trouble until you return." Elisa nodded reluctantly. "Make haste, sire." The ran off in opposite directions, Elisa wiping away one final tear.

Elisa was only a little relieved when the growth became sparse. The lights from Puerto Mar glinted on the horizon, which now turned a lovely shade pink. Her insticts told her to turn around and report to her companions, but she stopped herself mid-stride knowing she didn't have any. She took a deep breath and continued. Eventually she reached the hall of Lord Zito, lord of Puerto Mar. His mayordormo (butler) greeted her at the door. "Ah, yes, Lady Elida di Amalur. Welcome." He blinked gazing around for Elisa's maidens or guards. "Your comp–?" "They had other engagements," she said hastily. The mayordormo smiled. "Yes, of course. It's quite hard not to have anything to do in our beautiful city." Elisa forced a smile of her own. "It truly is." He blinked. "Yes, anyways. Let me show you to your suite. Maybe I can provide you a maid to aid you." "No, that's alright. I'm quite capable of taking care of myself," she said, following him down the echoing halls. The mayordormo smiled, making a small hand gesture to one of the doors. "Here is your suite, m'lady. If you need anything, please call for me. Lord Zito expects you in his dining hall by the seventh hour." He herded her into the room and shut the door behind her.

Elisa smiled as she entered the nice suite. She hopped now blood from her leg had dripped onto the marble carved floors. To the right of the suite was a nice big bed, to the left a closet and further to the left, a big bathroom. Beside her bed lay a large table with a couple seats around it. She paused and headed to the bathroom, dropping her bag beside the bathtub. She let the water run as she hastily got undressed. Elisa dipped her foot in and then slowly emerged into the warm water. He cut stung at the contact of water.

Elisa dried herself with a soft, plush towel and looked around the suite. Her dirty clothes lay across her bed, but she knew she needed new ones, even if she could wash her dirty ones clean. Elisa decided to look in the closet. She smiled. A cream bodice and dress hung on the shelves. It would do. She put them on. The dress flowed behind her and made her look magestic and strong. She then combed her honey-gold hair until suddle waves appeared. She tied it up, leaving a few curls to fall down her back. Elisa admired herself in the mirror. A couple months ago her younger sister had announced her fat infront of the entire court. Now after months of travel and battle, her muslced had hardened and her formed slimmed. Thought she would never be willowy and elegant like her younger sister, she would be strong and that was suitible enough for her. Lastly she applied a dab of kohl to her eyes. The bells of the north tower rang through the halls. It was the seventh hour. She'd have to meet Lord Zito.

She slipped into a pair of flats that matched her dress and slipped the key to her room into her purse along with some money. The mayordormo met her at the end of the hallway. "My Lady, come. Zito-Lord waits for you, from Amalur, Furtìr and Dornàr." Elisa nodded and allowed him to lead her to the courtroom. They walked in, the large door shutting silently behind them. Lord Entinonyar from Coulyár was there along with Lady Estella from Vircülent. A young lord from Yirzicér sat in a chair near the one set for Elisa though she did not recognize him. After letting her eyes dart around the room, she bowed to Zito. "Zito-Lord, I..." (Continue dialogue, something about her guards and the smoke)
